Microblog Mondays: Time to work out

Wes has been outside my body longer than he was inside despite the fact that he isn't quite 9 months old yet (Saturday). For a while now, I have been unhappy with the way my body has been looking. At this point with Izzy I was running consistently and felt more in shape. These days I'm just happy when I hit 10,000 steps on my FitBit and I'm consistently weighing about 5 pounds heavier than just a few months ago. Having to take Buster on shorter walks because of his partially torn ACLs doesn't help.

While things are absolutely insane with my life right now, dropping nursing has added at least a few minutes to my day and hopefully my boobs will get a little smaller in the next month or so (but I'm not holding my breath). So yesterday I decided that with the weather getting nicer, it's time to revamp my eating habits and start to exercise when I can.

The gym is out of the picture since we are 20 minutes away in our rental place, but that's why the internet is so awesome. I have little time so I need something fast but intense. I originally saw a Betty Rocker advertisement on Facebook (I think a friend "liked" her page so I saw it?) and thought it would be something fun to do with my best friend before her wedding. I kept saying that I was going to start, but never did (meanwhile, she finished 20 days of the 30 day challenge).

Well, yesterday on my walk with Buster I decided that I was sick of my weak stomach muscles that were destroyed by two pregnancies. I didn't want to look at bat wings in the mirror this summer. I didn't want to feel weird about wearing a bathing suit to the pool that all of our neighbors also frequent. It was time to get healthy- not just for me but to set a good example for Izzy and Wes. So, after the walk while the kids were still napping I put on my workout clothes and did Day 1 of the Betty Rocker 30 day free challenge. Today I feel sore in all of the right places which is always the sign of a good workout. I can't imagine that I am going to do all 30 days in a row, but hope to finish the 30 days soon!!

Losing weight and toning up is not just about working out though so my eating habits need to get better. I don't necessarily have as much of a plan for that as I should but simply eating smaller portions and focusing on eating more fruits and vegetables should help.

Wish me luck! Anyone want to join me?

I am all for making more time to work out but I have the hardest time doing it. It sounds like you have a great plan! I do not sign up for challenges (because if I sign up for a 30 day challenge and then miss a day I will feel like a failure and skip it all, but if I aim small goals I'm more effective), but I looked into the Betty Rocker thing and it looks interesting. I love body weight stuff. I saw the ads for the Body Boss system on facebook and I am seriously considering getting that, since it's also all body weight and a few times a week for 25 minutes I think I can schedule! I wish you so much luck, I feel like spring is the time when it's like, "Oh crap, sleeveless season and shorts season is upon me." I wore shorts yesterday and tried not to be horrified. I feel like 40 (or near it) is so cruel because it takes so much more to get the same results as when you were 30. Or 25. Body weight stuff seems to be amazing though, so I hope it works! If I plunge into Body Boss I'll let you know what that's like... :)

You are the second Microblog Monday on getting in shape. You should team up with Risa: http://risakerslakewrites.com/2017/04/shrinking-ass-pipe-dreams/!

This is my second time hearing about Betty Rocker. I now need to Google it and find out what this is.

Ooh you read my mind. What is it about nine months and post-partum body image? I decided it was time to do something at the exact same point with E and P.

I want to start running again but that is not feasible until P is more predictable with her mornings. I need to look into the Betty Rocker!

As for food, a combination of P cutting back her nursing and me realizing I could eat dairy without hurting her and then going a little crazy has meant I suddenly have weight to lose as well as fitness to regain.

Have you started yet? I'd totally do this with you! I'm way overdue for exercising regularly again. I feel so much better when I do, but finding me time is hard. I can commit to 15min per day!

Hey look at that. We had the same MM post. :) Good for you for getting back into it. CS are no joke. My first work out back at the gym was a class for core conditioning and I felt like my abs were being shredded. Ugh. Awful. It can only get better from here on out. Right?

Good for you! I'm on board with getting my steps in, and have been working on increasing my water consumption, but I can't seem to get motivated enough to do anything else! I NEED to though. Ugh. I need to look up this Betty Rocker challenge.
