Ladies, I need some help. Now that I am back in the working world, I have been wearing makeup every day. Don’t worry I have kept my tomboy roots and only put on powder* and eyeliner** every day. However, my problem is taking it off at night. I know that it is not good for my skin to leave it on, but currently I only have Clinque makeup remover. I do not like the Clinque makeup remover as it doesn’t do a very good job of getting my eyeliner off and you have to wash the stuff off afterwards. Who wants to add that second step?
So here’s where you come in. I am looking for an easy (as in one step) makeup remover. I would rather not use wipes as it just adds to landfills….although I suppose that cotton balls do too. Lately I have been just using a washcloth and water, but that is kind of harsh on my skin and eyes. Help!
In the meantime, I have a tip to pass along. Like most people that are almost 30 I have started to use an eye cream to try to prevent wrinkles. I recently got a facial and the woman told me to use the eye cream on my skin between my nose and upper lip to prevent wrinkles in that area too. I had never heard that before- has anyone else? I have started to do it since I figure it can't hurt....
*Foundation scares me. Plus, I would probably be one of those people to put it on and have a noticeable difference between the color of my face and my neck.
**So the stuff that I use? Is about 10 YEARS old. I had it in COLLEGE. And I’m not even close to being halfway done with it. That is probably a good thing since it is MAC and therefore expensive.

Chuck the ten year old eye liner and buy a new one! Seriously. Who knows what sorts of strange bacteria and ooginess have grown in the thing in all that time. It has probably broken down into something that is not even akin to what it was when you bought it at this point.
I've yet to find a makeup remover that actually removes all of any makeup. I use soap, (part of the Clinique Three Step System) and no makeup remover. Then a toner, which removes any leftover goodies that the soap didn't get. The toner is quick, easy, and good for your skin, so I would think it wouldn't be that much of a pain for you to use.
But really. New eye liner. Stat!

face wash-philophy purity
eye make up remover-sephora brand
moisterizer-philosophy hope in a jar
I never knew the tip about the eye cream, I will have to try that.
I use Almay eye make-up remover because it's not too oily (I HATE oily make-up remover). I used to use the Biore face wipes also which worked really well. Now I just wash my face with Cetaphyl, which is one of the most gentle on the skin.
You have to throw out the old eyeliner. You have to! You really should keep makeup that is more than a year old...especially if you use it on your eyes.
I use Nivea eye makeup remover. It's creamy, doesn't irritate my eyes, and works quite well. Plus it's available at the drugstore and is inexpensive!
