Potty training

That's right kids. It's something that I have been dreading since, well, since I gave birth. This weekend CP and I will be potty training Izzy. I read the book "Oh Crap! Potty Training" by Jami Glowacki and think that it is finally time. Izzy has been peeing in her light-up potty for months now and pees usually once or twice a day in the toilet at daycare. Daycare has been telling me that Izzy was ready for a while but we put it off until after our vacation. Also, Izzy has been asking about "big girl panties" for a while now so we need to strike while the iron is hot.

Please wish our rugs and furniture good luck as she runs around the house naked from the waist down tomorrow. If you have any tips, please let me know!

We are going to do this next month! Annika also seems ready, but we are waiting until after our vacation at the end of the month. Fingers crossed for both of us!

We did the three day method with Charlie and it worked, and he was 2.25 years old! We had underwear on all waking hours and sat on the potty every 20 mins, with an M&M just for sitting and TWO for going potty. We also had a big prize (game, puzzle) every evening for just trying so hard to do something new- just because we are proud of you, etc. If underwear got wet it was "oops! Our underwear is wet. Let's get dry ones." And that was that! Nighttime took a couple more months but he was in underwear from that weekend forward! (We used a three day weekend) Good luck!

I bet it will be a breeze since she seems ready. Our little firecracker doesn't wear diapers while she's awake (most of the time) but refuses to pee (or poop) on the potty. She will hold it until nap time or bed when we put her diaper back in. She's a stubborn little thing though! GL this week!
