Microblog Mondays: Botanic Gardens
Yesterday it was a gorgeous day in Chicago so we headed out to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. I tried to keep my picture taking to a minimum- I asked Izzy to sit still to take a picture in only four spots. Isn't 2.5 years old too early to be annoyed at your mother for taking your picture?

I love Botanic Gardens and miss the one in my hometown. That age sounds about right when my boy stopped wanting his picture taken, most of the time. However, at 3yr 7mo, he will sometimes ask for me to take random pictures. Such as of his sand cake/castle he made, so that we can send the pic to dad at work. Or the picture of his ball/stick-thing so we could show his friend and mom when they came over. LOL Kids are funny. Cute picture!
The tweens just get younger and younger :-)
I found that they would sit for a picture if they knew that I would be asking them to take a picture of me, too. So it would be my turn then their turn. Lots of pictures of my right shoulder and a close-up of their thumb.
Too funny! I tried to take a picture of M yesterday and he looked at me and said "No pictures today, Mommy!"
My kids are nine. My son puts his hands in front of his face & takes off like he's running from the paparazzi or 20/20 after he's just been caught for embezzlement. My one daughter would be fine if you attached the camera to her face so there'd be no chance on missing out on any of her brilliant expressions. My other daughter couldn't care less either way. My husband just took a picture and posted it of the girls and me after we finished a 5k race. I was smiling proudly. Their faces looked like I'd just told them they couldn't use their tablets for a month.
Oh, SPRING! Love it! For being annoyed, Izzy's still so stinkin' cute. I guess it's never too early to develop camera-shyness? Every once in a while I think on how much easier it is to take a zillion pictures now. Bryce was annoyed at me the other day because I wanted a selfie of us with our VOTE stickers after the NY Primary booths... I probably never would have done that before cell phones. Kinda interesting to think on the culture of picture-taking now tha it's so easy and instantaneous! I always love the ones of Izzy. :)
