Today, I am scrooge

Sorry for the crappy posting yesterday. It was a tiring day yesterday and I couldn’t think of anything exciting.

Today I am once again exhausted. Although CP and I are trying to save money, not spend it, we have made a decision that the trainer is a worthwhile thing and will start going two times a week. Last night we had a session and before we even started any of the different squats, lunges, work on the bosu ball, etc. she had us run a mile. Now, CP and I have been running on the treadmill recently, both doing about two miles (I don’t want to run much more for fear of aggravating my knee). I have been running at a 12 minute mile pace, which I KNOW is slow, but it doesn’t hurt my knee….at least for right now.

The trainer had us start at a 4.5 pace which I am used to, then move up to run at a 7.5 pace in order to try to finish the mile within 10 minutes. I have to tell you, I looked like I was on the Biggest Loser when Jillian is making her people run on the treadmill and then jump off! I missed making the 10 minute mile by .04 of a mile. Maybe next time…..

When I have a really hard workout the night before work, I tend to be exhausted and not super friendly the next day. Today is our holiday party. I should be having a smoothie for lunch, but I already paid for lunch so I might as well eat it. But today? I am not feeling the holiday spirit. A fellow coworker has dressed up as Santa and the different divisions are taking pictures with him. I didn’t particularly want to be IN the picture for a few reasons:

*I am not wearing holiday attire.
*The sweater that I am wearing is not super flattering.
*Because I was sweating so much after the training session yesterday I showered last night and decided to sleep in instead of showering this morning. So my hair is not done and I forgot to put on makeup.
*I look exhausted.

Today? I feel like kind of a scrooge. :-(

I hope you feel perkier. I know going to a trainer and working out makes for a sluggish day the next day, but whenever I get into a routine of working out, it always makes me feel a lot better to do it than to sit around.

I hope y'all get in that routine soon and that you feel less like a scrooge, too.
