We are finished planting our vegetable garden and all of the herbs have been potted. Yay!
In this picture: cilantro, parsley, basil, dill, rosemary, garlic chives, tarragon, thai basil and two other herbs that I don't know off the top of my head.
Our herbs that survived in our house all winter. Sage, spicy oregano, orange thyme, thyme and marjoram. The old rosemary plant is on the porch and not looking so good (which is why we bought a new plant just in case). We paired down our herb garden from last year a bit....
CP loves hot peppers. Seriously. We planted all kinds here.
Our homemade lattice for the cucumbers (hard to see, but planted in the back) to creep up. In the middle is swiss chard. The front row of dirt is where we planted romaine lettuce and red leaf lettuce seeds. Hopefully we started to see something come out of the ground soon!
Tomato plants in back with a row of carrots (from seeds so you can't see anything just yet) in front of them. In the front raised bed we have zucchini plants. You are supposed to plant them five feet apart so we are guessing that they take up quite a bit of room!
Our homemade teepees so that the beans (both green and wax yellow) in the back can grow up the stakes. We also have a lemongrass plant and more hot peppers.

Wow your green thumbs were very busy this weekend. Let me know what worked and what did not? Did you plant the herbs in its own pots within the planter?
My mom does that with mint otherwise it spreads and suffocates other seedlings.
Christina- so far everything seems to have taken the transfer well. We were careful not to break up the roots of the veggie plants too much when taking them out of the plastic pots.
We did not use pots inside the planters for the herbs. There is plenty of room for the herbs to grow (we even did that last year with mint). We made sure to plant only one kind of herb in each planter though- maybe your mom plants mint and something else in the same planter? Mint grows like wildfire so you do have to be careful with it.
Wow this is awesome! We really want to plant a veggie and herb garden but first we have to train the dog not to dig in the yard. We'll see how that goes!
Jess- you could put up chicken wire or something similar so that Montana is kept out of the garden...
It's so great you have all that room to plant and grow. Urban living doesn't provide quite that luxury.
