CP wanted to write a funny email to his parents telling them of the pregnancy. I was hoping to wait a little longer but CP told his sister while she was in town and she is not known for staying quiet so we knew that we didn't have much time. He should have just called them to tell them the news (like I suggested) because his email just confused everyone. Here is it below:
Dearest Family-
There has been much drama in the house over the past few weeks. After several appointments with generalists and specialists, it turns out NSC has a parasitic infestation in her uterus. She is in no danger, just tired and cranky. The little creature will need to be removed by surgery which is estimated to be around the end of July when it will be mature enough to remove. Attached you can see a rendering of the infestation.* Until then, NSC is unable to drink alcohol, eat sushi, or deli meats so that the parasite does not manifest itself into a flesh eating stomach burster (http://youtu.be/JehjqlzXwIQ).
Please keep this news private until we decide to share publicly.
Love,
CP
*CP attached the 3D ultrasound picture we got at our first OB appt.
I have to admit it was hilarious when CP's dad called very concerned a few minutes later and CP had to calmly talk him down and then ask him what the ultrasound picture looked like. CP's mom sent a hilarious email saying that I was in her thoughts and prayers. I decided to take control at this point and sent out a clarifying email to everyone; his mom responded that CP was "such a brat."
I also happened to forward the email to my sister as we figured that we should tell her as well (my parents have known since day 1) and thankfully she got it, but did not appreciate the You Tube video that CP linked to (hint: it's from the movie Aliens).
This is what happens when you leave your husband, an engineer, to tell his family the big news.

Oh my gosh, that is the best birth announcement ever!
That's frigging hilarious. Both the email and the fact that his folks didn't get it. Huzzah CP!
I love this so much!!
LMAO!!!! I get his humor, but utterly LOVE the response from his family. You know there is no way he's ever going to live this one done. ;)
Hysterical! Those engineers... funny and quirky, but so often misunderstood... :) I loved the email, though, and think you should frame it or laminate it or something to have forever. What a fun (if confusing) way to announce to your family!
LOL! That's pretty awesome!
My sister texted us all a photo of a pan of rolls in her oven, and I had ZERO idea what she meant. Mostly, she had a separate temperature thingie in her actual oven because the stove wasn't great about accurate temperature, and I kept wondering why on earth she felt the need to let me know that the completely cooked rolls in her oven were at exactly 0 degrees...I assumed her temperature gauge had gone on the fritz and as there was no other commentary, I ignored it. Ha! She was displeased with my lack of response. :)
xox
Bahaha! That's pretty dang funny! I love it and definitely think you need to print it out as a keepsake for the baby book.
My hat's off to you both. Most excellent!
So funny! What a clever announcement.
