How I kept busy

While I did manage to sneak in afternoon naps (which were fantastic by the way), I also got a lot done around the house in the past 2.5 weeks.

I was happy to spend more time with the dogs which included moments like this with Buster laying his head on my belly (unfortunately the baby didn't kick until after he moved)....

I did lots of laundry- including all of the baby clothes/sheets/etc that we have received so far!

I had to empty out all of our hard work from the freezer that broke.  CP and I ended up buying another freezer over Columbus Day weekend that has an alarm that sounds if it gets too hot.  Sadly though, we have not had any time to stock it full of food just yet....

RIP delicious and healthy food

I signed our baby up for daycare and started looking for a pediatrician (no luck yet).

One day I decided that I was going to craft.  So I made a fall wreath for our front door!

I wrote all of my thank you notes from my first shower.

I don't think that I have showed you guys the evolution of our front stoop, but here is what it looked like last fall (nice photobomb Buster)....

This was after the landscapers took out the overgrown bushes and we had a new screen door installed....

And now what it looks like after the new siding, new planting done by my parents, and yes, the red door that I painted last weekend!

I painted more trim and doors throughout the house (mainly upstairs)- don't worry it was no/low VOC paint.

I oiled our outside wood table.

I took Buster for a whole lot of long walks.  Koda was also walked, but it was mostly around the block.

While I did my best to try to not spend money since you know, I wasn't getting paid, I did notice that Coreopsis, a perennial that I have been wanting to plant in the back yard because rabbits don't like it, happened to be on major sale. So I bought 20 plants and planted them...along with 42 daffodils and 42 tulips.

I cleaned the house- a couple of times.

I baked a fresh apple cake with a cinnamon glaze- which by the way was DELICIOUS!!!  Note: if you make this the directions are missing when to add sugar and oil and I also needed to add 1/2 cup of milk.

I picked all of the green tomatoes in our garden and started to make green tomato chutney.

Oh yeah, and I watched a bunch of CNN hoping that the shutdown would end faster than it did.  I still have a long list of things to do but now they are going to get done after work or on the weekend!
