Yesterday afternoon I spoke to the nurse about my ultrasound and blood work. She said that everything looks great, other then the hemorrhage. Basically I have been told that I'm not quite on bed rest, but I have been doing too much. I explained that I have only been walking and doing regular life activities (laundry, walking the dogs, cleaning the house, etc) and that I had been hoping to add in light weights and yoga soon.
Her response was, "I'm not going to lie, but this is a large hemmorrhage. If you don't drastically reduce your activities then you could lose this baby. We see SCH a lot in IVF patients because you start ultrasounds so much earlier than regular women. Most get resolved without a problem or bleed with no harm to the baby. But you have worked too hard and waited too long to get pregnant to screw this up now. Stop exercising, don't clean, don't do laundry, etc. Just take it easy and hopefully the hemmorrhage will resolve itself with no bleeding in a few weeks."
I am lucky in that I haven't had any bleeding so far and I'm determined to keep it that way, even if house work doesn't get done while CP is away for work next week and even if Buster goes nuts because I can't take him on a long walk.
Yesterday my FIL and his wife, his brother and wife all came in from a visit from the East Coast. They are here until Sunday and have never been to Chicago. They had suggested that we spend three days in the city walking around museums, seeing the sights, etc. Well, I'm not going to be able to do that now. So they are all currently in the city while I am napping and resting at home before meeting them for dinner and a Second City show. I would think this is how we are going to handle the rest of the weekend- we will find things that I can do that involve sitting or not a lot of walking and when I can join them for those things, I will. Otherwise, I'll be at home with the dogs or somewhere with less activity.
If I unfortunately suffer any bleeding anytime prior to next Thursday (when I meet with my new OB), I am to call the clinic to get in for an ultrasound. The ultrasound will most likely show that there are no problems with the baby and it will just be to calm my mind. But my feeling is, I don't want to even to go there.

Who says something like that?! I get it: she wants you to be extra cautious. But it puts all the blame on you if something does happen, and that's just wrong.
I hope you're feeling more calm than I am. Not that I'm worried for your bean (I know most SCH aren't threatening)--I'm just mad at that nurse!
I'm definitely more calm than you are- she wasn't trying to blame me for anything, but said that for some women, the message of rest and relaxation goes in one ear and out the other. She just wanted to make sure that I was going to be careful until this resolves.
Does Buster chase balls? My ball flinger has been a life saver walking Meg. I can't manage our mega walks at the moment but I can stroll gently whilst she hoons back and forth. Also, bugger house work.
You take it east, d'ya hear me! We are doing this together lady. You and me.

Oh...just saw this post after I commented on your previous post. Ok, so let me comment again and say NOW you need to seriously listen to your nurse. Take care of yourself 100%. By taking care of yourself, you are taking care of your baby.
Also, read between the lines on what she said (they see a lot of SCHs in IVF patients due to early ultrasounds). That doesn't mean IVF clients have this happen MORE, just that it's caught on ultrasound more. That means that other women have them and no one ever knows because it resolves itself.
I was given the same advice by both my RE and my acupuncturist when they found the blood clot. I had to take it easy. My acupuncturist was adamant that I sit on the couch and let my husband take care of me. So I did and it cleared up. I am sending good positive vibes your way but I am sure it will all be fine.
I remember giving my RE a crazy look when she said I couldn't lift over 3 pounds and I said my cat is 14 and my handbag alone is three or more, and she looked at me even crazier like...how much work have you put into this pregnancy. And I got it.
I stopped exercising completely and took it really easy. Everything turned out okay, and I learned to enjoy the lazy rest, and also learned how to ask for help and say no!
There is plenty of time to exercise and be active after the birth! I have been making up for lost time!
I'm glad you are listening to the nurse's advice to take things even easier. I'm sure Buster will forgive you, CP will have to make it up to him with some extra fun activities when he is home.
Sending lots of positive vibes your way. So happy to hear you are taking the nurse's advice. Lots of rest for you!
The laundry and housework can wait! Just take care of you and that little bean right now. Sending many positive vibes your way.
Take it easy!!!!!!!! Sending good vibes your way!!
Thinking of you! relax, and try not to go crazy!
Sounds like the perfect opportunity to hire someone to clean your house for you! Take it easy-- I hope the SCH resolves itself soon!
Eeeek, so scary! No one wants to hear the nurses being alarmed; they're supposed to be all, "Don't worry, chillax!" Anyway -- I was basically told to go on modified bed rest for my entire first trimester and I didn't even have any bleeding, so maybe it's just for the best as a precautionary measure. I agree -- you've fought too hard for this to be cavalier (not that yoga is that cavalier, but you know what I mean!)
Don't clean? Those are my dream instructions. All the more reason to get pregnant!
Take care! Precious cargo :)
Gosh I'm sorry you poor thing. Take it very easy, this is way more important than anything. X
Oh, I'm sorry to hear this. I'll be thinking of you. Take care and get lots of rest!
Yikes! I echo the others: sit back, let the dust bunnies accumulate, let the doggies go nuts, let the FIL & co. take charge of entertaining themselves, and let that little one GROW! That's what's the most important, as you know. Thinking of you.
I know how you feel, I was on the "not quite bed rest" for 5 months. It was really hard especially when you are used to an active lifestyle but so worth it. I'm now 26 weeks :)
Hoping you get good news at your next ultrasound and your restrictions don't last long.
Rest up lady! I can imagine it is like watching paint dry to not be able to do even the simplest of tasks. From what I understand most SCH's resolve on their own, so lay low for a week and recheck!
Leave the dust bunnies and rest. And make CP baby you for a while!
I'm so glad to hear you are taking the nurses advice, although I'm sure that is difficult when you have family visiting. At least you are able to get out and do some things with them! Rest easy and take care of that precious cargo you have :)
I hope you were able to find a good balance for your weekend. Looking forward to good news after your appointment on Thursday.
